Latest News for Perry Local Schools
Edison Middle School has planned an eighth-grade trip to Washington D.C. for May 21 – 23, 2018. The school district contracted with Discovery Tours, a company that coordinates and manages student tours, for the trip to Washington D.C. Discovery Tours cancelled a trip it had planned for the Mentor City School District at the last minute and questions concerning trips planned with other school districts have also emerged. The Perry Local School District is currently seeking information regarding the planned Washington D.C. trip for our students. Although the school district has received nothing from Discovery Tours to indicate that the trip is cancelled, the district is being proactive and an alternative plan is being created. “We are aware of the situation with the tour company and our first priority is to make sure our students have the experience that they expect and have paid for,” said Diane Kittelberger, Edison Middle School Principal. “We assure the students and the families that the trip will occur. We will keep our parents and guardians informed as we develop plans and receive information.”
