Formative Assessments
Formative assessments are ongoing assessments, reviews, and
observations in a classroom that teachers use to improve
instruction and to provide feedback to the students. To be
productive, the type of formative assessment needs to match the
type of lesson, material, specificity of information needed, and
abilities of students. Formative assessments are not graded, but
analyzed for errors and levels of understanding.
