The Speak Life Resiliency Run will begin at Perry High School at 9 a.m. on May 4, with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. Pre registration costs $25 for adults and $15 for children (ages 10 and under); on the day of the race, the fee is $30 for adults and $20 for children (ages 10 and under). Those who are interested in participating can register online at hermescleveland.com. Online registration closes Friday, May 3.
“We anticipate that the event will bring our students, staff and community together as we remember, reflect and continue to heal from the tragedies of last year,” said Riley. “We hope that we will be able to make a positive impact on the organizations who are receiving the funds while supporting those that continue to struggle with mental health.” After the event, 5K awards will be given to the three overall male and female runners and the
top three male and female runners in 13 different age groups. All runners will receive post-race refreshments, food and a Speak Life 5K t-shirt. “Perry Local continues to focus on the social-emotional needs of our students,” said Superintendent Scott Beatty. “We hope the Speak Life Resiliency Run will raise a great deal of awareness to suicide prevention and be a positive, memorable event for the Perry community at large. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in making this event possible and bringing it to life.”
